Wagner College joined Lehigh University in rescinding an honorary degree awarded to Donald Trump. The school joins a growing number of individuals and organizations trying to distance themselves from the disgraced leader after his supporters laid siege to the Capitol last week.
Bloomberg reports that Wagner’s trustees met in a special session to review the honorary degree awarded to Trump in 2004. The school announced on Friday that they voted to rescind it.
Lehigh University, which awarded Trump the honorary degree in 1988, voted to take back the degree in a special session on Thursday. The school announced on Friday in a statement that the full board of trustees affirmed the vote.
Trump has also been awarded degrees from Liberty University and Robert Gordon University in Scotland. The Scottish university previously revoked the degree they awarded Trump in 2015 after making comments about banning Muslims from entering the United States.
There is no word from Liberty University about whether they will join the other schools in rescinding Trump’s honorary degree.
